Programs
Our programs are built to strengthen individuals’ relationships with themselves, others, and the Divine which we believe can be achieved through nurturing the mind, body, and soul of an individual. We strengthen the mind through our education program, Libros for Niños, the body through our nutrition initiative, Lunchadores, and the soul through our play program, Sol Play.
Each program is defined by a series of rotating projects intended to empower local educators to better meet student needs and create a safer school environment that is conducive to healthy, learning, and play. Currently, our projects focus on meeting the needs of four public schools – Escuela Ignacio Gutiérrez, Escuela El Coco, Escuela Playa Hermosa, Escuela Bernardo Gutiérrez.
Libros for Niños
We partner with school administrators to provide essential resources to foster a positive educational environment to engage the mind.
Current Projects:
- Student Outfitting – Outfit a child with all necessary supplies for one school year
- Classroom Supplies – Collect educational supplies for classrooms
- Library Books – Equip schools with books for a school library
- Storage – Providing economic and durable storage solutions for each classroom
- Structural Repairs – Repairs to ceiling, electric, plumbing, and draining
Lunchadores
We collaborate with local community members to provide basic food packages to individuals in need and develop sustainable nutrition initiatives to nourish the body.
Current Projects:
- Abuela’s Apron – Sewing Aprons for school cooks
- Mesa de Jardin – Garden box initiative to build sustainable garden-to-table options for school lunches
- Silla Comida – Sew seat cushions and raise money for lunch bleacher
- Cafeteria Supplies – Provide cafeteria essentials for safe and adequate food operations
- Meal Sponsorship – Initiative to equip one school with meals for a month
Sol Play
We recruit international donors and volunteers to finance the distribution of safe play equipment and outdoor toys for local schools to delight the soul.
Current Projects:
- Tierra Toys – Design and build economic and eco-friendly alternatives to standard outdoor recreational toys
- Playground Equipment – Partner with local contractors to provide safe playground equipment
- Recreation Toys – Distribute outdoor toys to schools for recreational use
