In this Notice, we, Brighter Community Resources (“BCR”), provide you with information about how we process your personal data. When we refer to “us” or “our,” we are referring to BCR.

Who controls your personal data? Brighter Community Resources acts through its representatives and BCR entities when we process your personal data. When you share personal data with us, you are sharing it with BCR.

BCR: Brighter Community Resources (“BCR”) is a global non-profit organization working to strengthen communities, promoting education, health, housing, and nutrition. Local BCR units, like chapters or coalitions, are not separate legal entities.

BCR Entities: BCR participates in and is a member of various coalitions. Sometimes you provide personal data to these entities that are also provided to BCR. Upon your request, we will provide you with information about which BCR entities process your personal data.

What personal data do we collect? We collect personal data that you (a) actively send to us, (b) we record, and (c) we obtain from third parties. We may process your personal data with or without automatic means, including collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction of your personal data.

Actively sent data: You send personal data to us when you join BCR, request BCR materials, request access to BCR tools or services, purchase materials, sign up for webinars or other events, or engage in other interactions or communications with BCR. When you interact with BCR, we generally process name, phone number, email address, physical address, picture, gender, donation/payment information, and so on. You can provide us with additional information to participate at your own initiative in surveys, contests, or other activities or events. Participation in surveys, contests, and similar activities is optional. If you do not wish to participate in, or provide personal data in connection with, such activities, this will not affect your membership status or your ability to use BCR tools or services available to the public. In each case, you will know what personal data you provide us because you actively and voluntarily send it.

Data we obtain from third parties and passively sent data: Where local law permits, you may submit personal data, including contact information about someone other than yourself (in other words, a third party) to enable us to contact that person, make a delivery, or otherwise meet your request. In your request, please make clear what personal data you would like to have changed, whether you would like to have your personal data suppressed from our database, or let us know what limitations you would like to put on our use of your personal data.
